چکیده

In this contribution we report on ERS-ENVISAT Tandem (EET) cross-interferometry (CInSAR) results achieved over Egypt. Over the Nile Delta an EET pair with a perpendicular baseline of 1948m was used to generate a DEM. Thanks to the long perpendicular baseline EET CInSAR showed a good potential to generate accurate DEMs over this relatively flat landscape. The result achieved is compared with the SRTM 3” DEM of the area. The EET CInSAR DEM is clearly more sensitive to height variations in the meter to 10 meter range and shows much less “height noise”. Low relief topographic structures can be better identified. This is also confirmed further south in a desert area. Apart from the interferometric phase we also investigated the EET CInSAR coherence and its dependence on the land cover. For comparison we processed ERS-1/2 Tandem pairs. The characteristics of ERS-1/2 Tandem pairs are similar in that the time interval between the acquisitions is short (1 day versus the 28 minutes). What is significantly different is the much longer perpendicular baseline of the EET pair.

On the exploitation of the SBAS Algorithm for the analysis of the deformations detected from the ERS and ENVISAT DInSAR data

We present a Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (DInSAR) technique for generating displacement maps and deformation time-series by exploiting the SAR data acquired by the ERS and ENVISAT/ASAR systems. The proposed approach extends the Small Baseline Subset (SBAS) algorithm and is based on an easy but effective combination of ERS/ERS and ENVISAT/ENVISAT multilook interferograms...

Monitoring of Sea Ice Dynamic by Means of Ers-envisat Tandem Cross-interferometry

The interest in the monitoring of sea ice masses has increased greatly over the past decades for a variety of reasons. These include: Navigation in northern latitude waters; transportation of petroleum; exploitation of mineral deposits in the Arctic, and the use of icebergs as a source of fresh water. The availability of ERS-Envisat 28minute tandem acquisitions from dedicated campaigns, coverin...

Application of ERS and Envisat cross-interferometry to generation and accuracy assessment of digital elevation model over northern Alaska

The accuracy of a digital elevation model (DEM) generated from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry (InSAR) crucially depends on the length of the perpendicular baseline between SAR acquisitions. ERS-2 and Envisat cross-InSAR (CInSAR) are superior methods to create high precise DEM because the perpendicular baseline can be extended sufficiently long by compensating a slight difference ...

Ers-envisat Tandem Cross - Interferometry Coherence Estimation

ERS-ENVISAT cross-interferometry is a unique tool for a number of applications since it combines a short repeat-pass interval (28 minutes) with a long perpendicular baseline (2 km). Temporal decorrelation effects are limited and the sensitivity to topographic features is strongly enhanced. In this contribution the focus is on problems encountered during the coherence estimation in ERS-ENVISAT c...

Ers-envisat Tandem Cross-interferometry for Monitoring of Sea Ice

The very short temporal separation (about 28 minutes) of the ERS-2 and ENVISAT satellites is very attractive to obtain almost-simultaneous acquisitions, appealing for SAR Interferometric applications both for the very high temporal correlation, for the strong reduction of atmospheric artefacts, and for monitoring fast displacements. The problem of the interferometric combination of such data ar...
